wee alphas

Wee Alphas is an interactive learning iPad app for children and their parents who appreciate good design and opportunities for practicing letter recognition and naming.  It introduces a group of memorable animal friends and hidden letters that can be found in each scene.  We love the playful animation and special surprises each animal has in store.  At the end, there's an opportunity to practice writing your special letter.  This is definitely one good-looking and engaging app that every parent of a toddler or preschooler should own!  Wee Society thinks so, too, because Wee Alphas is free to download  in the iTunes App Store from August 2-8 to celebrate their first birthday!  Thank you, Wee Society and happy birthday!!!  Be sure to hop over to Wee Society's website to download instructions for their new DIY Wee Wishing Crowns and while you're there, take a look at the other beautiful things they make in their online shop: prints for your wall, blocks and another fun iPad app.

lately lily app: paris for a day!

We were so excited to hear about the new Lately Lily app for the iPad!  In her latest adventure, traveling Lily and her pal Zeborah take a jaunt to Paris to meet her friend Audrey for a concert in the park.  You can help Lily choose her traveling outfit and pack her sunny yellow suitcase, maneuver Zeborah and Lily's suitcase through the baggage claim, take photos out the window on her flight to Paris and finally, have a wonderful time with Audrey at the al fresco concert in the park!  Avery loved choosing Lily's clothes for her trip and was delighted to see Lily later on dressed in the outfit that she had put together for her!  While on the plane, Avery also enjoyed searching through the camera viewfinder for photo subjects in the French landscape below and lastly, she liked hearing and repeating the French words taught by Lily while walking the streets of Paris.  Avery and I both loved the animation and playful surprises throughout the app.  There were plenty of new things to talk about and interesting sights to see!  It was a lovely taste of Parisian life through Lily's eyes.  Can't wait to see where Lily is off to next!
