tree collage

Last week, Avery and I made a tree collage using bits of paper cut in the shape of circles and rectangles.  It was cute because Avery was really interested in pouring and transferring the bits of paper from one bowl to the other.  And slathering on the glue, of course.

play date on st. patrick's day

This afternoon, my cousin Amy and her kids came over bearing St. Patrick's Day decor and potato candy (recipe courtesy of Baked Bree).  They were delicious and were wrinkled and dimpled just like real potatoes!  We had a little lunch, dessert, play time and craft time--all in all, a splendid little afternoon!

Flags are an easy way to add a little extra something to your cupcakes, sandwiches, whoopie pies, etc.  You can make them out of paper but did you know that you can make them out of ribbon, too?  You can see a couple of examples here and here.  Take a look at a tutorial from Peach and Pearl here.

soft greens

Love the simple yet meaningful and lovely accents of this baby's nook.

more from ikea

IKEA is one of my go-to places for wrapping paper that's modern and colorful!  (Not to mention economical, which is always great.)  Here are some stripes that I found there recently.
